Electrics/Electronics
Over the past years, electrics/electronics in the motor vehicle have gained tremendous relevance. Owing to the large number of electrotechnical innovations, but also to the establishment of modern, efficient databus systems, the share of electric, electronic and mechatronic systems has risen dramatically. With the impact it has on active and passive safety, comfort, communication, navigation and emission characteristics, this area purely and simply has become a key technology in the motor vehicle.
To meet this demand the Semcon engineers and technicians in the Electrics/Electronics business unit develop efficient systems for comfort, safety, driver assistance and infotainment. We offer our customers the entire spectrum of development services, from conceptual design and prototype construction to completely equipped test vehicles and evaluation of measurement results. We also assist them in all steps of the series production development process, if requested even right on the customer’s premises.
Semcon’s objective is always to apply its system competence to develop the best possible solution in regard to cost, quality and speed of completion. Increasingly, hybrid and electric vehicles are becoming the focus of everyday work, for example battery technology, management systems, electric drives, comfort systems, wiring harnesses, range, crashworthiness and testing. Another main emphasis of our work is activities outside the automotive sector.
There is a growing need for expert development partners in special disciplines who are willing to bear responsibility for systems. The desire for more efficient, more cost-effective vehicle development is causing more and more OEMs to farm out development to Semcon. We will continue to meet this challenge.
